PENDLETON --- Anyone interested in the industrial and engineering technologies – whether it is taking classes to prepare for a career or just for personal interest -- should check out Tri-County Technical College’s Technology Day set for Saturday, February 9.

Sponsored by the Industrial and Engineering Technology (I & ET) Division, the event is designed for everyone ranging from high school students to retirees, said Eugene Grant, dean of the Division.  “I encourage parents, high school students, persons considering career changes and even retirees to stop by the College between 10 a.m. and noon to see what we are all about.”

Guests will enter at the Student Center (located between Anderson and Pickens halls) where they can get refreshments and pick up a card that makes them eligible for a drawing for an iPod shuffle.

To be eligible for the drawing, you also must visit five out of the Division’s nine departments, which include Industrial Electronics, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Graphics, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Industrial Supervision, Welding, Industrial Maintenance, Machine Tool and General Engineering Technology.

Program coordinators will be on hand to give an overview of individual majors, demonstrations and a tour of the facilities.  “It will be informal but very educational,” said Grant.

For more information, contact Eugene Grant at 864-646-1341 or by e-mail at egrant@tctc.edu.
