PENDLETON --- TRiO's Student Support Services program at Tri-County Technical College will connect students and community members with businesses and other colleges at its 14th Annual College and Career Fair March 7.

Student Support Services is partnering with colleges and businesses once again to offer students and the community the opportunity to network with dozens of representatives from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the College's Cafe.  This year’s event is co-sponsored by Tri-County’s Student Government Association and is free and open to the public.

Soon-to-be graduates and those seeking employment are invited to bring their resumes and meet with prospective employers.  College representatives will have applications and will talk with students who are planning to transfer to senior institutions.

“This Career Fair offers a central place for students and our community residents to connect with these colleges, businesses and industry who support Tri-County.  It’s also a way to learn about Student Support Services and the TRiO programs as a whole,” said Cindy Trimmier-Lee, coordinator of Student Support Services.

“We’re in our 14th year with this event,” said Mrs. Trimmier-Lee, “and our success is based on staff members’ (Herman Allen and Jennifer Hogan) and the College’s commitment to serve our students and our community.  Also, students have begun their job searches and can make good contacts several months before graduation.  We urge everyone to take advantage of the unique opportunity of having a number of resources in one place,” she said.

Participating colleges include:  Allen University, Anderson University, Bob Jones University, Charleston Southern University, Clemson University, Columbia College, Converse College, Francis Marion University, Limestone College, Newberry College, North Greenville College, Southern Wesleyan University, Strayer University, Toccoa Falls College, University Center of Greenville, University of South Carolina, USC-Beaufort, USC-Upstate, Webster University and Winthrop University.

To date, participating businesses and industries include:  AIG American General, AnMed Health, Camp Wabak, Duke Energy, Etcon Staffing, Home Depot, Itron, Oconee Memorial Hospital, SCANA, S.C. Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, S.C. Department of Public Safety, S.C. Employment Security Commission, U.S. Engine Valve, United States Army and Wachovia Bank.
