PENDLETON --- Fifty-nine Tri-County Technical College students were inducted into the Alpha Zeta Beta (AZB) honor society during a recent ceremony on campus.

Initiates into the Alpha Zeta Beta chapter must have completed at least 12 hours of college work leading toward an associate degree and have attained a grade point ratio of 3.5 or better. Initiates also must be judged of good moral character and possess demonstrated qualities of good citizenship and service.

Guest speaker Herm Allen, tutor coordinator for Student Support Services at Tri-County, challenged the group to orient themselves to excellence. “Strive for excellence and free your minds from automatic negative thoughts,” he said. He also urged the group “to focus on your careers -- where you are now and where you are going. Shoot for the moon."
