PENDLETON ---  Tri-County Technical College will showcase its varied programs and services at a February 26 Open House.

“Tri-County Technical College offers something for everyone,” said Director of Recruiting and Admissions Renae Frazier, “and the February 26 event will give individuals a chance to find out how and where they fit in.”

Beginning at 2 p.m. at the Pendleton campus, the College will kick off its open house for prospective students, including high school students and their parents, persons who have been laid off from their jobs, those seeking retraining for new careers or those currently enrolled at the College.  Its theme is “Explore, Discover and Envision your Future at Tri-County.”

“If you’re someone who hasn’t thought about college yet or are struggling with the decision of where to go to college, come and see what Tri-County offers -- an affordable education with small classroom sizes, one-on-one interaction with instructors and the flexibility in building your own schedule to be a full-time, part-time or online student,” said Mrs. Frazier.

The Open House will offer information sessions for each of the four divisions at the College.  Each session will begin every 30 minutes with the first beginning at 2:15 and the last ending at 6:15 p.m.  The welcome session for University Transfer will begin every hour starting at 2:15 p.m.   Visitors should begin at the Student Center.

“It’s simple. You just choose the division that you are interested in and choose the program of study you are interested in,” said Mrs. Frazier.

The University Transfer, Business and Public Services and Industrial and Engineering Technology Divisions will offer information sessions from 2 – 7 p.m.  The Health Education Division will give tours from 2 – 5 p.m. with extended hours until 7 for nursing, veterinary technology and pre-pharmacy.

Guests will get an introduction to the College, see program presentations, tour the campus, observe interactive department lab stations and speak one-on-one with instructors about career opportunities.  Admissions and financial aid counselors will be on hand to assist with financial aid questions and filling out the FAFSA.  Information regarding athletics programs also will be available.

From 2 – 5 p.m., representatives from the following four-year colleges and universities will attend the University Transfer Open House to talk about transfer opportunities:  Clemson University, Furman University, Lander University, Erskine College, Southern Wesleyan University, Webster University and Limestone College.

Guests will be able to register for a drawing of door prizes that include an IPOD Shuffle and Nintendo Wii.

“We urge you to attend our open house to see our campus and look at specific programs of interest,” said Mrs. Frazier.
