PENDLETON ---  Tri-County Technical College will offer a series of Open Houses this month to spotlight its academic programs and student services.

The College’s four academic divisions will hold individual Open Houses (on its Pendleton campus) for prospective students, including high school students and their parents, persons who have been laid off from their jobs, those seeking retraining for new careers or those currently enrolled at the College.

“The community is welcome to come and see how Tri-County Technical College is in the business of changing lives,” said Renae Frazier, the College’s director of recruitment and admissions.  “There is much to show you.  We open our doors for you to learn about how attending the first two years at Tri-County prepares you to transfer to a four-year college; to learn about healthcare career options to work with people or pets; to learn about business and public services programs from Management to Criminal Justice; and to learn about industrial and engineering programs from robotics to welding.”

The first Open House is for the University Transfer Division and will be February 12 from 3 – 7 p.m.  Health Education Division will be held February 19 from 2 – 5 p.m., Business and Public Services will be held February 24 from 3 – 7 p.m. and the Industrial and Engineering Technology will be February 26 from 2 – 6 p.m.

Each Open House includes academic information sessions, along with student activities and student athletics information.  Guests will get an introduction to the College, see program presentations, tour the campus, observe interactive department lab stations and speak one-on- one with instructors about career opportunities.  Admissions and financial aid counselors will be on hand to assist with financial aid questions and filling out the FAFSA.

Representatives from the following four-year colleges and universities will attend the University Transfer Open House to talk about transfer opportunities:  Clemson University, Lander University, Anderson University, USC-Upstate, Erskine College, Southern Wesleyan University, University of Phoenix, Bob Jones University, Presbyterian College, Webster University and Limestone College.

Visitors may come at any time and there will be general sessions every hour followed by department breakout sessions on the quarter hour.

Guests will be able to register for a drawing of door prizes that include an IPOD Shuffle and IPOD Nano.

“We urge you to attend one or more of our open houses to see our campus and look at specific programs of interest,” said Mrs. Frazier.
