Environmental Regulation Compliance to be Explored At Seminars Offered by Tri-County Technical College

PENDLETON ---- A series of three classes that offer area industries a closer look at complying with the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) regulations will be offered by Tri-County Technical College beginning November 13.
           
Delivered by the McNair Law Firm, P.A. Environmental Regulatory Practice Group, each class provides specifics of legal requirements in a half-day format and will be offered through the College’s Corporate and Community Education Division.
         
“The courses are not just about compliance, but also are about protecting the environment.  Just about every industry in our service area would benefit from this information,” said Richard Parker, interim director of the College’s World Class Training Center.
           
Legal professionals in the field of environmental compliance will describe the do's and don'ts of environmental regulation compliance. Participants will find out how environmental laws and regulations are implemented and how individual companies can get involved. Extensive and helpful handout material will be provided.
           
Understanding the Basic Environmental Requirements for Manufacturing will be held November 13 from 8:30 – noon.  The cost is $119.
           
New Storm Water Permitting Requirements is November 17 from 8:30 – noon. The cost is $119.
           
Air Permitting Requirements for South Carolina Industry is set for January 15, 2010, from 8:30 – noon.  The cost is $119.
           
Also planned for the beginning of the 2010 is a course to help industries develop a system to manage their organization’s impacts on the environment. Companies who already have ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) also can benefit by sending personnel to the class. The ISO Lead Auditor course provides comprehensive training in lead auditor techniques, methodology, practices and skills. A slide presentation visually illustrates an actual company's environmental aspects, a unique feature only in this course, provided by Pillar Management Associates. Additionally, the course contains a solid body of environmental auditing knowledge accumulated from five years of EMS audits.  Those who should attend include ISO 14001 Auditors, ISO 14001 Implementers, and EMS Managers. ISO 14001 Lead Auditor.  The cost will be $1495.
