Eighty-five Tri-County Students Inducted Into Alpha Zeta Beta Honor SocietyFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 5/1/2007 PENDLETON --- You’re in the right place at the right time, pursuing a two-year degree in an area surrounded by new markets, new technology, new jobs and new ideas, Rebecca Eidson, director of Public Relations and Communications at Tri-County Technical College, told the 85 Alpha Zeta Beta (AZB) honor society inductees during a recent ceremony on campus. Initiates into the Alpha Zeta Beta chapter must have completed at least 12 hours of college work leading toward an associate degree and have attained a grade point ratio of 3.5 or better. Initiates also must be judged of good moral character and possess demonstrated qualities of good citizenship and service. “Make the most of the opportunities that lie ahead of you,” said Mrs. Eidson, who challenged the group to embrace change, to be critical thinkers and team players and to engage in lifelong learning. “You are our State’s investment in the future,” she said, adding that 90 percent of technical college graduates remain and live in South Carolina. Statistics show that S.C. technical college enrollment has increased by 60 percent since 1990, with Tri-County’s enrollment growth among the highest.
